How to build a successful web site

Back in 1998 I wanted to create a web site selling supplies for laser printers. I checked around and found out I could not afford to have someone else do it for me. So I decided to learn how to do it myself, well it took me almost a year and even then I was not sure of myself.

After I put the site on the web I had some success but not enough. The first year I did a few sales but was unable to break even.

About that time I heard about a company called SBI and I signed up with their program, but then I dropped out and turned to an SEO to work on my site. I got his help to the tune about $1500.00 even though I could not afford it, but I must say it did help.

My sales went up to about 3 to 4 thousand a month and that sounded good to me. I thought I was on the way to success and then Google did their famous dance and I became invisible. I was not on the first or second page as before, I had just disappeared.

I struggled along until January 2007 and then closed the site down.

My site failed because my web pages did not look as professional as my competitors, I did make changes on a regular basis but I did not presale in the right way and did not do the things that SBI is now teaching me to do.

I became one of the 99+% that fail each year.

There are so many things to learn when you are building a new web site and the people you think will help you don't. But now with the help of SBI who leads you every step of way. I am now learning things that I never heard of before and learning them faster.

I am now creating a new site to replace the old Kore Products site. A site about something I love to do and I know it will work because its fun and does not feel like work and it will be going on the web about October 2007.
